HC's notice to Apple-WhatsApp-Google, asked to secure data of JNU violence




Three professors of Jawaharlal Nehru University had filed a petition in the JNU violence case. In this petition, the footage of the video related to the violence was asked to be handed over to the university.

The Jawaharlal Nehru University violence on 5 January saw a hearing in the Delhi High Court on Monday. The High Court has issued notices to Apple, WhatsApp and Google regarding the video related to the violence and asked to secure the video. At the time of the violence, many types of videos, photos on WhatsApp, including WhatsApp, went viral, in which many protesters may be identified.

Please tell that three professors of Jawaharlal Nehru University had filed a petition in the JNU violence case. In this petition, the footage of the video related to the violence was asked to be handed over to the university.





On Monday, the case  court that a letter has been written on their behalf to the university administration and CCTV footage has been demanded. However, the administration has not yet responded to this letter.

Explain that this petition was filed in the court by JNU Professors Amit Parameswaran, Atul Sood and Vinayak Shukla, in which the court has been asked to give the necessary orders to the Delhi Government and the Commissioner of Police. The name of some WhatsApp groups was also mentioned in this petition, including messages, photos, videos of 'Unity against left', 'Friends of RSS'.





Masked attackers attacked

On January 5, dozens of masked attackers attacked the campus in JNU. During this period, students, teachers were targeted and vandalized. More than thirty people were injured in this attack. Delhi Police has received more than a dozen complaints about this violence.

Taking action on these complaints, the police have released CCTV footage of nine students, who will be questioned about the violence. The names of JNU Students Union President Aishi Ghosh are also among these nine students.
